- Der Steinhügel von Barpa Langass (auch Barpa Langais) liegt auf dem Hügel Ben Langass an der Südseite der bei Clachan auf der Hebriden-Insel North Uist. Er ist nicht zu verwechseln mit Dun Bharpa, einem ebenfalls sehr großen Cairn auf der Äußeren Hebriden-Insel Barra. Der runde Steinhügel hat etwa 25,0 m Durchmesser und ist vier Meter hoch. Seine niedrigen Randsteine sind insbesondere auf der Nordseite weitgehend in situ erhalten. In dem zerflossenen Hügel sind auf der Ostseite, vor dem Zugang zur Kammer des Passage Tombs vom Orkney-Cromarty- (OC) oder Orkney-Cromarty-Hebriden-Typs, die Spuren eines tiefen V-förmigen Vorhofs erhalten. Der mit flachen Platten gedeckte Gang ist etwa vier Meter lang. Er weitet sich auf, bevor er in eine ovale Kammer übergeht, die intakt ist und von drei großen Platten bedeckt wird. Die Kammer ist jedoch nicht zugänglich. Im Norden, am Hang des Mharrogh Hill, liegt der gut erhaltene Cairn von South Clettraval oder Tigh Cloiche. In dem runden Steinhügel von 24 m Durchmesser und mehr als vier Metern Höhe liegt ein zugängliches Passage Tomb mit runder Kammer. (de)
- Barpa Langass (also known as Langass Barp or Langash Barp; Scottish Gaelic: Barpa Langais [ˈpaɾpə ˈl̪ˠaŋkɪʃ]), is a Neolithic chambered cairn on the Isle of North Uist in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. It measures about 72 feet in diameter by 18 feet in height, and is around 5,000 years old. The roof is constructed of two massive slabs with a third slab superimposed. The entrance is at the east side. Although the structure has partially collapsed, it is still possible to enter one chamber. The antiquary Erskine Beveridge believed that a second and perhaps a third chamber exist. In or prior to 1911, Dr Beveridge excavated within and near the cairn, and he found evidence of burnt burials as well as pieces of pottery (some with patterned lines), wood ashes, burnt bones, a flint arrowhead, a scraper, and a piece of pierced talc. Barpa Langass is located at grid reference NF838657 (57°34′14″N 7°17′30″W / 57.57056°N 7.29167°W)(57.570581, -7.291557). It can be reached via footpath from the A867 about 5 miles southwest of Lochmaddy. Alternatively, one can park at the Langass Lodge Hotel, follow the footpath to the Pobull Fhinn stone circle, and then continue up Ben Langass to Barpa Langass. (en)
