- Bakerovo jezero se nachází na severu amerického státu Washington. Jezero se rozlévá v národním lese Mount Baker-Snoqualmie, v údolí Bakerovy řeky, jihozápadně od národního parku Severní Kaskády. Vodu získává právě z Bakerovy řeky a z několika dalších malých přítoků. Jezero se nalézá asi 16 kilometrů severně od města Concrete. Jezero má rozlohu 19 km² a nachází se v něm 352 milionů m³ vody, jejíž hladina se v průběhu roku mění až o 12 metrů. Původně se jednalo o daleko menší vodní těleso, jehož rozlohu však v roce 1959 zvedlo dokončení konstrukce , betonové gravitační hydroelektrárny o instalovaném výkonu 91 megawattů. Okolí jezera je populární oblastí pro rybaření, táboření a plavbě na lodi, za kterými se sem vydávají obyvatelé okolních okresů Whatcom a Skagit. Nedaleké tábořiště Swift Creek obsahuje 55 míst pro stany a karavany, 2 další skupinová místa a lodní rampu s přístavištěm. Tábořiště se nachází v polovině jezera u břehů potoka Park Creek a také pronajímá několik chatek. Jezero chrání národní rekreační oblast Mount Baker. (cs)
- Der Baker Lake ist ein Stausee im nördlichen Teil des US-Bundesstaats Washington. Der See liegt im Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest und im Baker River Valley südwestlich des North Cascades National Park; er wird vom Baker River sowie vielen kleineren Zuflüssen gespeist. Der See liegt etwa 16 km nördlich von Concrete. Der See hat eine Fläche von 19 Quadratkilometern und enthält etwa 320 Mio. m³ Wasser. Der Wasserspiegel schwankt jährlich durchschnittlich um etwa zwölf Meter. Der ehemals kleinere Wasserkörper wurde 1959 im Zusammenhang mit dem Bau des Upper Baker Dam vergrößert und der Wasserspiegel um etwa 95 m angehoben. Der Damm ist eine Gewichtsstaumauer aus Beton und enthält ein Wasserkraftwerk mit einer Leistung von 91 Megawatt. Der Baker Lake ist ein beliebtes Erholungsziel für Angler, Camper und Bootfahrer aus den angrenzenden Countys Whatcom und Skagit. Im Gebiet um den Baker Lake liegt auch der Swift Creek Campground mit 55 privaten Plätzen für Zelte oder Wohnmobile, zwei Gruppenplätzen sowie einer Slipanlage und einer Marina. Der Campingplatz befindet sich auf halbem Weg hoch zum Mt. Baker am See gegenüber dem Park Creek. Vorher war er als Baker Lake Resort und Tarr’s Resort bekannt. - Baker Lake is a lake in northern Washington state in the United States. The lake is situated in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest and Baker River valley southwest of North Cascades National Park and is fed by the Baker River along with numerous smaller tributaries. The lake is approximately 10 miles (16 km) north of the town of Concrete, Washington. The lake covers an area of 4,800 acres (19 km2) and holds up to 285,000 acre-feet (352,000,000 m3) of water. Water levels fluctuate an average of 39 feet (12 m) annually. Formerly a smaller natural body of water, it was enlarged and raised 312 feet (95 m) in 1959 in conjunction with the construction of the Upper Baker Dam, a concrete gravity hydroelectric dam capable of generating 91 megawatts. Baker Lake is a popular recreational area for fishing, camping, and boating and attracts local residents from adjacent Whatcom and Skagit counties. The Baker Lake area is also home to Swift Creek Campground which features 55 private campsites for tents or RVs, 2 group site as well as a boat ramp and marina. The campground can be found about halfway up on Mt. Baker Lake across from Park Creek. Formerly known as Baker Lake Resort and Tarr's Resort before that. It lies entirely within Mount Baker National Recreation Area. (en)
