- يطلق على أي فضاء طوبولوجي اسم فضاء بير إذا كانت كل التقاطعات في مجموعة منتهية لمفتوح كثيف كثيفة. سمي هذا المبدأ الرياضي على اسم عالم الرياضيات الفرنسي René-Louis Baire. (ar)
- Ein Baire-Raum, auch Baire’scher Raum genannt, ist ein spezieller topologischer Raum in der Topologie, einem Teilgebiet der Mathematik. Baire-Räume sind nach René Louis Baire benannt und besitzen gewisse Regularitätseigenschaften. So sind sie aus topologischer Sicht groß in dem Sinne, dass sie nicht mager sind und demnach nicht als abzählbare Vereinigung nirgends dichter Mengen geschrieben werden können. In Baire-Räumen gelten viele weitreichende Implikationen, insbesondere für die Funktionalanalysis. So lassen sich der Satz von Banach-Steinhaus, das Prinzip der gleichmäßigen Beschränktheit und der Satz über die offene Abbildung aus der Tatsache ableiten, dass jeder vollständige metrische Raum ein Baire-Raum ist. Fue nombrado así en honor a René-Louis Baire quien introdujo el concepto. En un espacio topológico se puede pensar en conjuntos cerrados con interior vacío como puntos en el espacio. Ignorando los espacios con puntos aislados, que son su propio interior, un espacio de Baire es grande en el sentido que no puede ser construido como una unión numerable de estos puntos. Un ejemplo concreto es un plano bidimensional con una colección enumerable de líneas. Sin importar que líneas escojamos, no podemos cubrir el espacio completamente con las líneas. - In de topologie, een deelgebied van de wiskunde, is een Baire-ruimte een topologische ruimte die, intuïtief gesproken, zeer groot is en "genoeg" punten heeft voor bepaalde limietprocessen. De Baire-ruimte is genoemd naar René Baire, die het concept in 1899 heeft geïntroduceerd. In een willekeurige topologische ruimte bestaat de collectie van gesloten verzamelingen met een leeg inwendige, juist uit de randen van de dichte open verzamelingen. Deze verzamelingen zijn in zekere zin 'verwaarloosbaar'.
