- Das Bachfest Leipzig ist ein Musikfestival. Es fand in der Stadt Leipzig zum ersten Mal im Jahre 1908 statt. Bereits 1904 hatte es das 2. deutsche Bachfest der Neuen Bachgesellschaft in der Messestadt gegeben. Das Bachfest fand in der Folgezeit in unregelmäßigen Abständen, zum Teil als Bachwochen oder Bachtage bezeichnet, statt. Seit dem Jahre 1999 wird das Festival jedes Jahr vom Bach-Archiv im Auftrag der Stadt Leipzig organisiert, jedes Mal unter einem anderen Motto. Zum Bachfest werden in verschiedenen Kontexten Werke von Johann Sebastian Bach aufgeführt, der von 1723 bis zu seinem Tode 1750 in Leipzig lebte und als Thomaskantor an der Thomaskirche wirkte. Ferner gehören Orgelfahrten in Mitteldeutschland zum regelmäßigen Programm. Jedes Jahr finden etwa 100 einzelne Veranstaltungen im Rahmen des Bachfests statt, darunter ein Konzert unter der Leitung des Thomaskantors zur Eröffnung. Seit 2011 finden im Rahmen des Festes die BachSpiele Leipzig statt. (de)
- The Bachfest Leipzig (Leipzig Bach Festival) is a music festival which takes place annually, in the month of June, in the city of Leipzig, where J. S. Bach worked as the Thomaskantor from 1723 until his death in 1750. The current artistic director is Professor Michael Maul. The city first hosted a festival in 1904, for the Neue Bachgesellschaft, and then formally, since 1908. The festival was sometimes referred to as the Bachwochen (Bach Weeks) or Bachtage (Bach Days). Since 1999, the festival is organized by the Bach Archive on behalf of the city of Leipzig, each year under a different theme. Each year there are approximately 100 individual events during the Bach Festival, beginning with an opening concert conducted by the serving Thomaskantor. The final concert is traditionally a performance of Bach's Mass in B minor in the St. Thomas Church. (en)

Jam en 1904 okazis la 2-a germana Bachfest de la Nova Bach-Societo en la foirurbo. La Bach-festivalo okazis sekvatempe en neregulaj interspacoj, parte nomataj Bach-semajnoj aŭ Bach-tagoj. Ekde la jaro 1999 la Bach-arĥivo organizas la festivalon ĉiun jaron laŭkomisie de la urbo Lepsiko, ĉiun fojon sub alia devizo. Dum la Bach-Festivalo estas prezentataj selektaj verkoj de Johann Sebastian Bach, kiu ekde 1723 ĝis sia morto de 1750 vivis kaj laboris kiel Thomas-kantoro ĉe la Thomas-preĝejo en Lepsiko. Krome selektaj orgenvizitoj en Mezgermanio estas regulaj programeroj.
