- BP del Bover' (BP Bootis) és un estel variable a la constel·lació del Bover, situat molt prop del límit amb constel·lació del Dragó, Draco. Catalogada com a variable Alpha² Canum Venaticorum —la representant del qual més brillant és Alioth (ε Ursae Majoris)—, la seva magnitud aparent màxima és +5,34, fluctuant la seva lluentor 0,02 magnituds al llarg d'un període de 1,3049 dies. S'hi troba a 313 anys llum de distància del sistema solar. BP del Bover és un estel blanc-blavenc de tipus espectral B9p, el qual, amb una edat de gairebé 120 milions d'anys, amb prou feines ha recorregut una tercera part de la seva vida com a estel de la seqüència principal. És un estel químicament peculiar —concretament un estel Bp—, que presenta sobreabundància de silici i crom. Exemples d'estels Bp són β Hydrae, HK Canis Majoris i . Igual que aquests estels, BP Bootis posseeix un intens camp magnètic; el seu camp magnètic efectiu aconsegueix els 100 G. La temperatura efectiva de BP del Bover és de 9.800 K, si bé un altre estudi eleva significativament aquesta xifra fins als 12.000 K. Giravolta sobre si mateixa amb una velocitat de rotació projectada de 75 km/s.Llueix amb una lluminositat 102 vegades major que la del Sol i és 3 vegades més massiva que aquest. (ca)
- BP Boötis is a solitary variable star in the northern constellation of Boötes, near the northern constellation border with Draco. It is visible to the naked eye as a dim, white-hued star with an apparent visual magnitude that fluctuates around 5.48. The star is located 299 light years away from the Sun based on parallax, but is drifting closer with a radial velocity of −16 km/s. This is an Ap star with a stellar classification of A0 Vp Si Cr, showing abundance anomalies of silicon and chromium. It is an Alpha2 Canum Venaticorum variable that varies in brightness by 0.02 magnitude over a period of 1.3 days. The distribution of silicon across the surface appears to be associated with the magnetic field of the star, with depleted regions appearing around the magnetic poles. BP Boötis is 170 million years old with a projected rotational velocity of 69 km/s, having a rotation period of 1.29557 days. It has 2.6 times the mass of the Sun and 2.7 times the Sun's radius. The star is radiating 65 times the luminosity of the Sun from its photosphere at an effective temperature of 9,954 K. (en)

BP Bootis es una estrella blanco-azulada de tipo espectral B9p, la cual, con una edad de casi 120 millones de años, apenas ha recorrido una tercera parte de su andadura como estrella de la secuencia principal.Es una estrella químicamente peculiar —concretamente una estrella Bp—, que presenta sobreabundancia de silicio y cromo.Ejemplos de estrellas Bp son β Hydrae, HK Canis Majoris y NN Apodis.Al igual que estas estrellas, BP Bootis posee un intenso campo magnético; su campo magnético efectivo alcanza los 100 G. La temperatura efectiva de BP Bootis es de 9800 K, si bien otro estudio eleva significativamente esta cifra hasta los 12.000 K.Gira sobre sí misma con una velocidad de rotación proyectada de 75 km/s.Brilla con una luminosidad 102 veces mayor que la del Sol y es 3 veces más masiva que éste.
