Assumption University (Thai: มหาวิทยาลัยอัสสัมชัญ, RTGS: Mahawitthayalai Assumption, abbreviated ABAC) also referred to by its acronym AU is a private, Catholic, research higher education institution in Bangkok, Thailand. The naming of Assumption, besides its religious meaning in glorification of the Mother of Christ, has yet another meaning in Thai, namely ” the Abode of Abiding Knowledge” and rightly, “Assumption University” is the Seat of Wisdom.
