- Ferrari Arno XI ist ein historisches Rennboot, das der italienische Ingenieur und Motorboot-Rennfahrer Achille Castoldi entworfen hat und das 1953 von der Werft Cantiere Timossi in Azzano am Comer See als Einzelstück gebaut wurde. Das Boot ist mit einem Ferrari-V12-Motor ausgestattet, den Ferrari speziell für diesen Zweck modifizierte. Das Modell ist die letzte Entwicklungsstufe der Arno-Rennbootserie. Castoldi plante mit diesem Boot verschiedene Geschwindigkeitsweltrekorde aufzustellen und die damalige Dominanz der Motoren von Alfa Romeo und Maserati in diesem Bereich zu brechen. Deswegen überredete er die Ferrari-Werksfahrer Alberto Ascari und Luigi Villoresi, Enzo Ferrari dazu zu bewegen, ihm dafür ein geeignetes Aggregat zur Verfügung zu stellen. Man überließ ihm den Motor, der Ferrari 1951 auf dem Silverstone Circuit seinen ersten Grand-Prix-Sieg mit dem Ferrari 375 F1 bescherte. Der Motor wurde in einen Timossi-Dreipunkt-Rumpf, einen sogenannten „Hydroplane“, eingebaut. (de)

Castoldi wanted to establish a world water speed record so he persuaded then Ferrari racing drivers Alberto Ascari and Luigi Villoresi to influence Enzo Ferrari to supply him with a 4.5-litre, V12 Ferrari engine; the same engine that gave Ferrari his first Grand Prix victory with the Ferrari 375 F1 at Silverstone Circuit in 1951.The engine was installed in a Timossi three-point racing hydroplane hull. - Il Timossi Ferrari Arno XI è un idroplano da record costruito in esemplare unico nel 1953 nei Cantieri Timossi di Azzano di Tremezzina (CO) per l'ingegnere e campione di motonautica Achille Castoldi. L'imbarcazione fu dotata di un motore Ferrari V12 realizzato appositamente dalla Ferrari. Derivato da quello delle monoposto Ferrari 375 di Formula 1 che avevano gareggiato nel Campionato del 1951 al propulsore di 4500 cm³. furono aggiunti 2 compressori volumetrici per aumentarne notevolmente la potenza. Condotto da Achille Castoldi, il 15 ottobre 1953 raggiunse la velocità di 242,708 chilometri orari sul Lago d'Iseo in zona Sarnico (BG), record tuttora imbattuto anche perché la categoria di appartenenza dell'Arno XI non esiste più. Nel 1954 passò poi nelle mani del pilota ed ingegnere che con l'idroplano stabilì alcuni altri record, quindi l'Arno XI finì quasi dimenticato in un magazzino alla periferia di Milano dove rimase fino alla fine degli anni novanta. Nel 2012 fu messo in vendita ad un'asta nel Principato di Monaco durante il Grimaldi Forum.
