| - Arena Zagreb is the name of a future multi-purpose sports hall located in the southwestern part of Zagreb, Croatia (in the Lanište neighborhood of Novi Zagreb). The site will also include a building complex, the Arena Complex, expected to be the largest shopping-entertainment center in the city. The Croatian Government and the City Government of Zagreb held a public tender for the construction of a sports hall in order to host games in the 2009 World Men's Handball Championship, and later for numerous other sporting, cultural and business events. The hall is supposed to have a 16,300 seating capacity. They selected the consortium composed of property developers TriGránit and Ingra . The TriGranit/Ingra offer was initially approved on April 25, 2007, but the signing of the final contract was delayed because of Zagreb mayor Milan Bandić expressing discontent with the conditions. The Consortium engaged studio UPI-2M from Zagreb, specially for this project to create and produce a unique design for Arena Zagreb. The construction of the sports hall finally started on July 20, 2007, and should be completed by December 15, 2008. The Arena will then be used for football, handball, athletics, basketball, volleyball, numerous other sporting competitions and various concerts, exhibitions, fairs, conventions and congresses. The shopping center and Arena Zagreb will share a series of services such as a joint parking lot, multiplex cinema, wellness center, numerous restaurants, cafes and stores. (en)
- Arena Zagreb ist eine Multifunktionshalle die in der gleichnamigen Stadt Zagreb in Kroatien entsteht. Sie ist für Sport- und Kulturveranstaltungen sowie feierliche Anlässe vorgesehen. Die Halle befindet sich momentan im Bau, die Fertigstellung ist für Dezember 2008 geplant. Sie befindet sich am westlichen Stadteingang im Stadtteil Lanište. Auf dem Nachbargrundstück ist Kroatiens größtes Einkaufszentrum Arena Cetar geplant. Die Halle selbst hat ein Fassungsvermögen von 15. 200 Sitzplätzen incl. Logen, bei Konzerten sogar 20. 000. Vorgesehen ist die Halle vor allem für die Handball-Weltmeisterschaft 2009. Bei der Ausschreibung wurde ein Konsortium bestehend aus dem kroatischen Ingra und dem ungarischen Trigranit gewählt und beauftragt. Das Projektbüro UPI-2M d.o.o. aus Zagreb erstellte die Projektdokumentation für den Bau der zukünftigen Arena. Mit den Arbeiten wurde nach Erteilung der Baugenehmigung am 20. Juli 2007 begonnen, das Bauende wird im Dezember 2008 erwartet. Die Halle ist für folgende Sportveranstaltungen vorgesehen: Handball, Basketball, Volleyball, Hallenfussball, Tennis, Tischtennis, Gymnastik, Badminton, Boxen, Ringen, Leichtathletik, und andere Hallensportarten. Ausserdem können Konzerte, Ausstellungen und Kongresse in ihr abgehalten werden. Zudem sind Restaurants, geschäftlich und kommerziell genutzte Räume sowie eine kleine Trainingshalle vorgesehen. Die Tiefgarage nimmt 900 Fahrzeuge auf, 80 weitere Parkplätze stehen Außen zur Verfügung, während für Massenveranstaltungen auch eine Bushaltestelle für 36 Busse errichtet wird. (de)
