- El Vicariat Apostòlic de Ruanda va ser creat el 25 d'abril de 1922 des de la part nord de l'antic , que servia el territori del que ara és Ruanda. Va ser dirigit pel bisbe Léon-Paul Classe dels Pares Blancs. El va ser creat en la mateixa data pel territori del que ara és Burundi i dirigit pel bisbe . El bisbe Classe va morir el 31 de gener de 1945 i va ser succeït pel bisbe Laurent-François Déprimoz. El 14 de febrer de 1952 l Vicariato Apostòlic de Rwanda es va dividir entre el Vicariat Apostòlic de Kabgayi sota el bisbe Deprimoz i el Vicariat Apostòlic de Nyundo sota el bisbe Aloys Bigirumwami. - The Apostolic Vicariate of Ruanda was created on 25 April 1922 from the northern part of the former Apostolic Vicariate of Kivu, serving the territory of what is now Rwanda. It was led by Bishop Léon-Paul Classe of the White Fathers. The Apostolic Vicariate of Urundi was created on the same date, serving the territory of what is now Burundi and led by Bishop . Bishop Classe died on 31 January 1945 and was succeeded by Bishop Laurent-François Déprimoz. On 14 February 1952 the Apostolic Vicariate of Ruanda was divided into the Apostolic Vicariate of Kabgayi under Bishop Déprimoz and the Apostolic Vicariate of Nyundo under Bishop Aloys Bigirumwami.
