She has recently returned from maternity leave. She has been a presenter since the Summer of 2006 when she returned from maternity leave and replaced Joanna Gosling, who moved to the weekday schedule. Prior to this she had been a news correspondent for the BBC since 2002, with her reports appearing on BBC One, BBC News and BBC Radio. Previously she had been a reporter and occasional presenter for BBC Newsline since the late 1990's. On June 4 McVeigh married Martin Reid in Tullysarran, County Armagh. (en)
