- Anika el Guerrer (en rus: Аника-воин; del grec ἀνίκητος|ἀνίκητος, "invencible, no vençut") és un bogatyr, un que és un personatge típic dels contes russos. El folklorista diu en la seua obra on comentà i edità contes russos que hi ha un conte sobre Anika escrit en manuscrits del segle xvii i XVIII i que era molt gaudida entre la gent que ha rebut instrucció.Segons el conte "El guerrer al qui va vèncer la mort" editat i comentat per Alexandr Nikoláievich el tal cavaller era violent i decidí anar a Jerusalem a saquejar les esglésies i es trobà amb la Mort personificada. Una variant diu que ell mateix la invocà provocant-la a aparèixer. Aleshores la Mort acabà amb ell amb facilitat perquè ell solament mata si és amb l'ajut seu. Una de les cançons planificades no realitzades del recull de cançons de Modest Mussorgsky tenia inspiració en aquesta llegenda. (ca)

According to a "universally known religious ballad", he was a violent and sacrilegious man who set out to destroy the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, but was stopped by the half-beast Wonder. Anika challenges Wonder to a duel, but is immediately overcome because Wonder is Death in disguise. Though he begs for more time and attempts to bribe Death, no mercy is given. Proverbially, an "Anika the Warrior" is one engaged in something as hopeless as a fight against death. He appears in the folk plays Tsar Maximilian and , and is mentioned in Maxim Gorky's Childhood. Its plot is loosely based on the Byzantine epic about Digenes Akritas. (en)
- Ани́ка-во́ин (греч. ἀνίκητος — «непобедимый»; также Они́ка-во́ин) — герой русского народного стиха об Анике и Смерти. В переносном смысле означает человека, который хвастается лишь вдалеке от опасности. В стихе молодой Аника-воин хвастается своей силой и разоряет беззащитных людей. В пути ему встречается Смерть и упрекает его за хвастовство. Аника-воин нисколько её не боится и вызывает на поединок. Смерть быстро одолевает его, и он, раскаявшись о необдуманном слове, начинает умолять её дать ему хоть сколько-нибудь времени, но Смерть убивает его. Согласно одной из гипотез, русский стих восходит к «Повести о прении живота со смертью». Имя героя скорее всего взято из византийского сказания о герое Дигенисе, который там упоминается с постоянным эпитетом anikitos. Русские переписчики могли посчитать эпитет за имя собственное. Аника-воин перешёл в поговорку «Аника-воин сидит да воет». Его имя упоминается в сказках, притчах, народной драме (например, в пьесе о «», интермедии «Аника-воин»). Его нередко изображали с кратким изложением повести «» на лубочных картинках. Н. А. Некрасов в своём произведении «Кому на Руси жить хорошо».
