- Anglo-Hellenic League je organizace podporující a propagující anglo-řecké vztahy a porozumění. Byla založena v roce 1913 v Londýně. Od roku 1990 vydává každé dva roky Anglo-Hellenic Review. Je členem společnosti Hellenic Centre, v jejíž budově od 90. let 20. století sídlí. Sesterská liga byla založena v Athénách. Od roku 1986 uděluje liga Runcimanovu cenu za knihy v angličtině o Řecku a helénismu. (cs)
- Ο Αγγλοελληνικός Σύνδεσμος (Anglo-Hellenic League) είναι ένας φορέας που εδρεύει στη Μεγάλη Βρετανία για την προώθηση της αγγλοελληνικής κατανόησης και φιλίας. Ιδρύθηκε το 1913 στο Λονδίνο με αρχικό σκοπό την προώθηση των ελληνικών συμφερόντων κατά τη διάρκεια των Βαλκανικών πολέμων. Έκτοτε έχει να επιδείξει αξιοσημείωτο φιλανθρωπικό και πολιτιστικό έργο. Από το 1986 ο σύλλογος έχει θεσμοθετήσει τα βραβεία Ράνσιμαν (προς τιμήν του ιστορικού συγγραφέα Στήβεν Ράνσιμαν) για την επιβράβευση συγγραφέων για βιβλία στην αγγλική γλώσσα τα οποία παρουσιάζουν θέματα για την Ελλάδα. Η βράβευση γίνεται μια φορά το χρόνο. (el)
- Die Anglo-Hellenic League ist eine griechisch-britische Organisation zur Unterstützung und Förderung der griechisch-britischen Beziehungen, die 1913, in der Zeit nach den Balkan-Kriegen, von , dem Principal des King’s College London, und William Pember Reeves, D. J. Cassavetti and A. C. Ionides gegründet wurde. Ursprünglich dazu gedacht, Freundschaft zu fördern, anti-griechische Vorurteile abzubauen und Verbindungen jeder Art zu unterstützen, liegt die Akzentsetzung heute auf kulturellem und philanthropischem Gebiet. So war die Anglo–Hellenic League, vertreten durch , einen Mitbegründer und Ehrenpräsidenten, schon maßgeblich an der Schaffung und Besetzung des Lehrstuhls des Koraes Professor of Modern Greek and Byzantine History, Language and Literature am King’s College London beteiligt, ebenso an den Auseinandersetzungen, die seinen ersten Inhaber, Arnold J. Toynbee, 1924 dazu veranlassten, den Lehrstuhl zugunsten eines solchen an der London School of Economics and Political Science aufzugeben. Erster Präsident war in dieser Zeit (1913–1925) William Pember Reeves. In verschiedenen Notsituationen während des Zweiten Weltkriegs und in den Jahrzehnten danach hat die Anglo–Hellenic Society griechische Personen, Gruppen und Organisationen auch finanziell unterstützt. Seit 1986 ist ihre Hauptaktivität die alljährliche Verleihung des Runciman Award, eines Preises für eine englischsprachige Publikation des Vorjahres zum Thema Griechenland oder Griechentum im Ausland oder irgendeinem Aspekt davon. Er ist nach dem Historiker Steven Runciman benannt. Die Anglo–Hellenic League ist im Hellenic Centre (16–18 Paddington Street, London) untergebracht. Prince Michael of Kent ist ihr Royal Patron. (de)
- The Anglo-Hellenic League was founded in the aftermath of the 1912–13 Balkan Wars in order to counter anti-Greek propaganda in the United Kingdom. Dedicated to promoting Anglo-Greek understanding and friendship, the League has a long history of charitable and cultural work. After the First World War, through John Gennadius, a co-founder and Honorary President, the League took a leading role in establishing the Koraes Chair of Modern Greek and Byzantine History, Language and Literature at King's College London. During the Second World War the League raised funds for the starving Greek population and for the Greek Navy and the Merchant Marine. In the immediate post-war years the League gave assistance to a children's home, a hospital in Athens and to war-ravaged villages in remote parts of Greece and gave similar help to the southern Ionian Islands after the 1953 Ionian earthquake. In 1979/80 the League raised over £80,000 towards the 'Save the Acropolis' Appeal. It is an organisation supporting and promoting Anglo-Greek relations and understanding. In 1990 it published a biannual magazine The Anglo-Hellenic Review. This publication ceased in autumn of 2014 after 50 issues. It is a member society of the Hellenic Centre, and since the mid-1990s it is housed at the Hellenic Centre in London. From 1986, the league awards annually the Runciman Award (named in honor of the writer and historian Steven Runciman) for books published in English and relating to Greece and Hellenism. (en)
- L'Anglo-Hellenic League, en français : ligue anglo-hellénique, est fondée au lendemain des guerres balkaniques de 1912-13 afin de contrer la propagande anti-grecque au Royaume-Uni. Destinée à la promotion de la compréhension et de l'amitié anglo-grecque, la ligue a une longue histoire de travail caritatif et culturel. Après la Première Guerre mondiale, par l'intermédiaire de John Gennadius, cofondateur et président honoraire, la ligue joue un rôle de premier plan dans la création de la chaire Koraes d'histoire, de langue et de littérature grecques et byzantines modernes au King's College de Londres. Pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, la ligue collecte des fonds pour la population grecque affamée et pour la marine de guerre hellénique et la marine marchande. Dans l'immédiat après-guerre, la ligue apporte son aide à un foyer pour enfants, à un hôpital d'Athènes et à des villages dévastés par la guerre dans des régions reculées de la Grèce. Elle apporte également une aide similaire aux îles Ioniennes du sud après le tremblement de terre de 1953. En 1979/1980, la ligue collecte plus de 80 000 £ pour l'appel Sauvez l'Acropole. Il s'agit d'une organisation soutenant et promouvant les relations et la compréhension anglo-grecques. En 1990, elle publie un magazine semestriel, The Anglo-Hellenic Review. Cette publication cesse à l'automne 2014 après 50 numéros. Elle est une société membre du Hellenic Centre, et depuis le milieu des années 1990, elle y est hébergée à Londres.
