  • Alex Lloyd's eponymous album is his fourth, released in October 2005 (see 2005 in music). After the release of Distant Light, Lloyd took an extended hiatus from recording and touring, electing to spend more time with his wife Ameila and new born son Jake. It was during this time that Lloyd severed ties with his management firm One Louder and record label EMI. Armed with a new set of songs written during this period of domestic bliss, Lloyd sought out a new management firm and record label, eventually signing with Sony BMG Music Entertainment. Recorded in London Bridge Studios, Seattle, with famed producer Rick Parashar, Alex Lloyd was warmly received by the Australian record-buying public and music critics alike, reaching number 7 on the ARIA Albums Chart and achieving platinum sales status (shipments to retailers in excess of 70,000 copies). Tracks 1, 2 and 3 were mixed by Bob Clearmountain. Tracks 6 and 7 were mixed by Jack Joseph Puig. Alex Lloyd was also released as a limited edition DualDisc. On the DVD playing side, tracks 1, 2 and 3 are presented in 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound and the remainder of the tracks in Dolby Digital enhanced stereo. As is common with Sony/Sony-BMG releases, there are no DVD-Audio tracks. (en)
