- Die Social Credit Party of Alberta (frz. Parti Crédit social de l'Alberta), deren Mitglieder als Socreds bezeichnet werden, ist eine konservative Partei in der kanadischen Provinz Alberta. - Alberta Social Credit was a provincial political party in Alberta, Canada, that was founded on social credit monetary policy put forward by Clifford Hugh Douglas and on conservative Christian social values. The Canadian social credit movement was largely an out-growth of Alberta Social Credit. The Social Credit Party of Canada was strongest in Alberta, before developing a base in Quebec when Réal Caouette agreed to merge his Ralliement créditiste movement into the federal party. The British Columbia Social Credit Party formed the government for many years in neighbouring British Columbia, although this was effectively a coalition of centre-right forces in the province that had no interest in social credit monetary policies. The Alberta Social Credit party won a majority government in 1935, in the first election it contested, barely months after its formation. During its first years, when led by William Aberhart, it was a radical monetary reform party, at least in theory if not in effect. After Aberhart's death in 1943 and the rise to leadership of Ernest Manning, followed quickly by the discovery of oil in north-central Alberta and its accompanying wealth for many, Social Credit took on a more conservative hue. Its policies were pro-business and anti-union, and largely opposed to government intervention in the economy. It stayed in power until 1971, one of the longest unbroken runs in government at the provincial level in Canada. However, it held no seats after 1982, and finished a distant seventh in the 2012 and 2015 general elections, before the party's name change. In May 2017, the party changed its name to (or Prolife Alberta, for short) following the election of anti-abortion activist Jeremy Fraser as leader. The change in name reflected the change in direction from the comprehensive political platform of Social Credit with aims of forming government, to the Party's new, and sole, focus of promoting pro-life public policy. Le mouvement créditiste canadien est principalement issu du Parti Crédit social de l'Alberta. Le Parti Crédit social du Canada était à l'origine surtout présent en Alberta, avant de développer une base au Québec lorsque Réal Caouette accepte de fusionner son Ralliement des créditistes avec le parti fédéral. Le Parti Crédit social de la Colombie-Britannique a été au pouvoir pendant plusieurs années en Colombie-Britannique ; toutefois dans ce cas, il s'agissait en fait d'une coalition de forces de droite et centristes dans la province qui ne s'intéressaient pas du tout à la théorie monétaire du crédit social. De partijideologie is gebaseerd op de theorie van de Britse ingenieur en econoom en is conservatief-Christelijk van aard. In Alberta was William Aberhart een van de grondleggers van de partij die in 1935 tot haar eigen verrassing de provinciale verkiezingen won waarna Aberhart de premier van Alberta werd. Ernest Manning was de meest succesvolle leider van de Socreds zoals de bijnaam van de partij luidt en hij loodste de partij naar 7 opeenvolgende verkiezingsoverwinningen, laatstelijk in 1967. Bij provinciale verkiezingen in 1971 kwam er een einde aan de greep van de partij op de macht in Alberta. De rol van oppositiepartij viel de Socreds slecht en bij opeenvolgende verkiezingen leverde de partij stemmen en zetels in om na 1982 geheel uit het parlement van Alberta te verdwijnen. (nl)
- O Partido do Crédito Social de Alberta foi um partido político provincial em Alberta, Canadá, que foi fundado na política monetária de crédito social proposta por e nos valores sociais cristãos conservadores. O movimento canadense de crédito social foi em grande parte um crescimento do partido em Alberta. O era mais forte em Alberta, antes de desenvolver uma base em Quebec, quando concordou em fundir seu movimento credorista Ralliement no partido federal. O formou o governo por muitos anos na vizinha Colômbia Britânica, embora fosse efetivamente uma coalizão de forças de centro-direita na província que não tinha interesse em políticas monetárias de crédito social. O Partido do Crédito Social de Alberta ganhou o governo da maioria em 1935, na primeira eleição que disputou, poucos meses depois de sua formação. Durante seus primeiros anos, quando liderado por William Aberhart, foi um partido radical de reforma monetária, pelo menos em teoria, se não em vigor. Após a morte de Aberhart, em 1943, e a ascensão à liderança de Ernest Manning, seguida rapidamente pela descoberta de petróleo no centro-norte de Alberta e sua riqueza para muitos, o Crédito Social assumiu uma tonalidade mais conservadora.
