- العمل ضد الجوع هي منظمة إنسانية عالمية نشأت في فرنسا وملتزمة بإنهاء الجوع في العالم . تساعد المنظمة الأطفال اللذين يعانون من سوء التغذية وتزود المجتمعات بإمكانية الوصول إلي المياه الصالحة للشرب و الحلول المستدامة للجوع. في عام 2014 عملت منظمة العمل ضد الجوع في 49 دولة مختلفة حول العالم مع أكثر من 6000 موظف ومتطوع يساعدون 13,6 مليون شخص محتاج. - Action Against Hunger (French: Action Contre La Faim - ACF) is a global humanitarian organization which originated in France and is committed to ending world hunger. The organization helps malnourished children and provides communities with access to safe water and sustainable solutions to hunger. In 2020, Action Against Hunger worked in 51 countries around the world with more than 8,300 employees and volunteers helping 13.6 million people in need. Action Against Hunger was established in 1979 by a group of French doctors, scientists, and writers. Nobel Prize-winning physicist Alfred Kastler served as the organization's first chairman. Currently, Mumbai-based businessman and philanthropist Ashwini Kakkar serves as International President of Action Against Hunger network. The group initially provided assistance to Afghan refugees in Pakistan, famine-stricken Ugandan communities, and Cambodian refugees in Thailand. It expanded to address additional humanitarian concerns in Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, the Balkans, and elsewhere during the 1980s and 1990s. Action Against Hunger's Scientific Committee pioneered the therapeutic milk formula (F100), now used by all major humanitarian aid organizations to treat acute malnutrition. Early results showed that treatment with F100 has the capacity to reduce the mortality rate of severely malnourished children to below 5%, with a median hospital fatality rate quoted of 23.5% A few years later, the therapeutic milk was repackaged as ready-to-use therapeutic foods (RUTFs), a peanut-based paste packaged like a power bar. These bars allow for the treatment of malnutrition at home and do not require any preparation or refrigeration. The international network currently has headquarters in six countries – France, Spain, the United States, Canada, Italy, the UK. Its four main areas of work include nutrition, food security, water and sanitation, and advocacy. The integrated approaches with various sectors of intervention are:

Die internationalen Programme zielen darauf ab, unterernährte Kinder vor dem Hungertod zu retten, Zugang zu sicherem Trinkwasser einzurichten und nachhaltige Lösungen gegen den Hunger zu schaffen. Laut internationalem Jahresbericht war die Organisation im Jahr 2017 in 46 Ländern tätig und erreichte mehr als 20 Millionen Menschen.Die Spendeneinnahmen und Zuwendungen von institutionellen Gebern beliefen sich im gleichen Jahr auf mehr als 412 Millionen Euro. - Action contre la faim (ACF) est une organisation à but non lucratif créée en 1979 par un groupe d'intellectuels comprenant notamment Alfred Kastler, Bernard-Henri Lévy, Jacques Attali, Françoise Giroud, Marek Halter et Jean-Christophe Victor. Les objectifs d'Action contre la faim sont d'éliminer la faim par la prévention, la détection et le traitement de la sous-nutrition, en particulier pendant et après les situations d’urgence liées aux conflits et aux catastrophes naturelles. La stratégie de l'ONG est de réduire les conséquences de la faim, de s'adresser à ses causes, et de changer l'image de la faim[pas clair]. En 2018, 21 millions de personnes dans 49 pays ont bénéficié des programmes d'Action contre la faim, qui a employé plus de 7 500 personnes dans ses sièges et sur le terrain. Le volet Eau, Hygiène et Assainissement (WASH) des projets d'Action contre la faim, a bénéficié à 8,9 millions de personnes dans le monde en 2018. Les volets Nutrition et Sécurité alimentaire ont bénéficié à 8,8 millions de personnes. La prépondérance de programmes en eau, hygiène et assainissement menés par l'association est en lien avec sa volonté de réduire la prévalence de maladies hydriques, qui est une cause majeure et un effet de la sous-nutrition.
