Rud, Thomas Thursday and Les Savage, Jr. Action Stories occasionally reprinted fiction by writers such as Jack London and Edgar Wallace. The magazine also carried a Dashiell Hammett story ("Laughing Masks", November 1923) printed under Hammett's "Peter Collinson" pseudonym.
