A-Trak won the DMCs World DJ Championship in 1997 at the age of 15, making him both the youngest and the only Canadian winner of the competition.
He was the first DJ to win all three major DJ competition titles (DMC, ITF and Vestax) and the first DJ to win five DMC championships
He was later asked to join the now-defunct DJ crew Invisibl Skratch Piklz, and is a member of The Allies.
He cites the DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince album "He's the DJ, I'm the Rapper" as his introduction to turntablism.
A-Trak is the current tour DJ for rapper Kanye West. He uses Serato Scratch LIVE.
A-Trak is the younger brother of David Macklovitch of the band Chromeo, with whom he runs the record label Audio Research.
A-Trak attended Montreal private school Stanislas from the elementary level through lycée.
