- Τα επεισόδια στον Έβρο το 2020 ξεκίνησαν στις 28 Φεβρουαρίου 2020 όταν η τουρκική κυβέρνηση ανακοίνωσε ότι σε αντίδραση για τον θάνατο 33 Τούρκων στρατιωτών στο Ιντλίμπ, προχωράει μονομερώς στο άνοιγμα των συνόρων της προς την Ελλάδα για να περάσουν οι πρόσφυγες και μετανάστες που επιδιώκουν να φτάσουν στην Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση. Ταυτόχρονα δεκάδες χιλιάδες πρόσφυγες μετανάστες έφθασαν στα ελληνοτουρκικά σύνορα κατά μήκος του ποταμού Έβρου. Η διακίνηση έγινε μέσω λευκών λεωφορείων και ταξί. Ο εφοδιασμός τους με τούρκικα πυρομαχικά. Η προσπάθεια διάρρηξης του φράγματος με τούρκικο τεθωρακισμένο αυτοκίνητο ευρωπαϊκής προέλευσης δεν επέφερε το ποθητό αποτέλεσμα. Οι ελληνικές αστυνομικές δυνάμεις με την βοήθεια των πολιτών κατάφεραν με πυροσβεστήρες, φωταγωγία, μεγάφωνα καθώς και με την επισκευή του φράχτη να εμποδίσουν την άτακτη εισβολή. - The events at the Greek-Turkish border along the Evros river in 2020 began on 28 February 2020 when the Turkish government announced that in response to the death of 33 Turkish soldiers in Idlib, it was unilaterally opening its borders to Greece to allow refugees and migrants seeking refuge to reach the European Union. At the same time, tens of thousands of migrants arrived at the Greek-Turkish border along the Evros River. The migrants reached the border through white buses and taxis. They were supplied with Turkish ammunition. A Turkish armored car attempted to break the border fence with no success. The Greek police forces, with the help of the citizens, managed with fire extinguishers, lighting, loudspeakers as well as by repairing the fence to prevent the erratic invasion.
