- The 2019–20 Verbandspokal, (English: 2019–20 Association Cup) consisted of twenty-one regional cup competitions, the Verbandspokale, the qualifying competition for the 2020–21 DFB-Pokal, the German Cup. All clubs from the 3. Liga and below could enter the regional Verbandspokale, subject to the rules and regulations of each region. Clubs from the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga could not enter but were instead directly qualified for the first round of the DFB-Pokal. Reserve teams are not permitted to take part in the DFB-Pokal or the Verbandspokale. The precise rules of each regional Verbandspokal are laid down by the regional football association organising it. All twenty-one winners qualified for the first round of the German Cup in the following season. Three additional clubs also qualified for the first round of the German Cup, these being from the three largest state associations, Bavaria, Westphalia and Lower Saxony. The Lower Saxony Cup was split into two paths, one for teams from the 3. Liga and the Regionalliga Nord and one for the teams from lower leagues. The winners of both paths qualified for the DFB-Pokal. In Bavaria the best-placed Regionalliga Bayern non-reserve team qualified for the DFB-Pokal while in Westphalia a play-off was conducted to determine this club. The finals of the Verbandspokal competitions, originally scheduled for 23 May 2020, were postponed to later dates due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Germany. On 9 July, the new date was set for 22 August except in Bavaria, where its date was published six days later as 5 September. (en)
- Über den Fußball-Verbandspokal 2019/20 wurden 22 Teilnehmer der 21 Landesverbände des DFB am DFB-Pokal 2020/21 ermittelt. Die Sieger der Verbandspokale waren zur Teilnahme an der ersten Runde des DFB-Pokals berechtigt. Die drei mitgliederstärksten Verbände Bayern, Niedersachsen und Westfalen entsandten zusätzlich jeweils einen zweiten Teilnehmer. Somit qualifizierten sich 24 Amateurvereine für den nationalen Pokalwettbewerb, davon 22 über die Verbandspokale. Zweite Mannschaften von Vereinen und Kapitalgesellschaften durften nicht am DFB-Pokal teilnehmen. In Niedersachsen qualifizierten sich die Sieger beider Pokalwettbewerbe für den DFB-Pokal, in Bayern die beste teilnahmeberechtigte Mannschaft des Zeitraums 2019/20 der Regionalliga-Spielzeit 2019–21 (1. FC Schweinfurt 05) zusätzlich zum Sieger des Verbandspokals für die erste Hauptrunde des DFB-Pokals, in Westfalen war dies die siegreiche Mannschaft (SC Wiedenbrück) des Qualifikationsspiels zwischen der besten teilnahmeberechtigten Mannschaft der Oberliga Westfalen 2019/20 und der besten teilnahmeberechtigten westfälischen Mannschaft der Regionalliga West 2019/20. Hätte ein Verbandspokalsieger einen der ersten vier Plätze der 3. Liga erreicht, wäre der unterlegene Finalist nachgerückt. (de)
- La Verbandspokal 2019-20 (español: Copas Regionales de Asociación 2019-20) constó de veintiuna competiciones de copa regionales, la es la competencia clasificatoria para la DFB-Pokal 2020-21. Todos los clubes de la 3. Liga y más abajo podían ingresar a la Verbandspokale regional, sujeto a las reglas y regulaciones de cada región. Los clubes de la Bundesliga y 2. Bundesliga no pudieron entrar, sino que se clasificaron directamente para la primera ronda de la DFB-Pokal. Los equipos de reserva no podían participar en la DFB-Pokal o el Verbandspokale. La asociación regional de fútbol que la organiza establece las reglas precisas de cada Verbandspokal regional. Los veintiún ganadores se clasificaron para la primera ronda de la Copa de Alemania en la siguiente temporada.
