- The 2019 Africa Men's Sevens was a rugby sevens tournament held in Johannesburg on 8–9 November 2019. It was the seventh championship in Africa Men's Sevens, a series that began in 2013. This tournament also served as a qualifying tournament for the 2020 Summer Olympics, with the champion team Kenya advancing. The next two best-placed teams, Uganda and Zimbabwe were eligible to compete at a final Olympic qualifier tournament, as well as the 2020 World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series. (en)

- Mistrzostwa Afryki w Rugby 7 Mężczyzn 2019 – jedenaste , oficjalne międzynarodowe zawody rugby 7 o randze mistrzostw kontynentu organizowane przez Rugby Africa mające na celu wyłonienie najlepszej męskiej reprezentacji narodowej w tej dyscyplinie sportu w Afryce, które odbyły się w Brakpan w dniach 8–9 listopada 2019 roku. Mistrzostwa służyły również jako kwalifikacja do turnieju rugby 7 na Letnich Igrzyskach Olimpijskich 2020. Faworyci zawodów, Kenia i Zimbabwe, łatwo przeszli fazę wstępną i grupową docierając do półfinałów. W nim reprezentacja Zimbabwe uległa Ugandzie i ostatecznie musiała zadowolić się trzecią lokatą, w finale zaś Kenijczycy nie oddali Ugandyjczykom choćby punktu. Triumfatorzy zatem awansowali na tokijskie igrzyska, zaś pozostali medaliści uzyskali prawo gry w olimpijskim turnieju barażowym oraz w kwalifikacjach do WRSS. (pl)
