- The 2016 United Nations Security Council election was held on 28 June during the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly, held at United Nations Headquarters in New York City. The elections were for five non-permanent seats on the UN Security Council for two-year mandates commencing on 1 January 2017.In accordance with the Security Council's rotation rules, whereby the ten non-permanent UNSC seats rotate among the various regional blocs into which UN member states traditionally divide themselves for voting and representation purposes, the five available seats were allocated as follows:
* One for Africa
* One for the Asia-Pacific Group
* One for Latin America and the Caribbean
* Two for the Western European and Others Group The five members will serve on the Security Council for the 2017–18 period. This was the first time a Security Council election was held in the month of June. On 18 September 2014, the General Assembly adopted Resolution 68/307 to push the elections back to six months prior to the beginning of the newly elected Council members' terms. Moreover, this was the first election of Kazakhstan to the Council. (en)
- La 72e élection du Conseil de sécurité des Nations unies a eu lieu le 28 juin 2016 pendant la 70e session de l’Assemblée générale des Nations unies au siège des Nations unies à New York. Cette élection consiste à renouveler cinq des dix sièges non permanents du Conseil, les nouveaux membres étant élus pour un mandat de deux ans commençant le 1er janvier 2017 et s'achevant le 31 décembre 2018. Les cinq sièges permanents, comme l'indique leur dénomination, ne sont pas concernés par cette élection. Les sièges à renouveler sont :
* un pour l'Afrique ;
* un pour le groupe Asie-Pacifique ;

- Pemilihan Anggota Dewan Keamanan Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa 2016 akan dilaksanakan pada Juni 2016. Pemilihan dilakukan untuk memilih lima anggota tak tetap Dewan Keamanan Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa yang bertugas mulai 1 Januari 2017. Pemilihan ini akan memilih lima anggota tidak tetap Dewan Keamanan PBB dengan zonasi sebagai berikut:
* Satu anggota mewakili negara Afrika
* Satu anggota mewakili negara Asia-Pasifik
* Dua anggota mewakili negara Eropa Barat dan Kelompok Lain

- As eleições do Conselho de Segurança das Nações Unidas de 2016 foram realizadas dia 28 de junho durante a 70ª sessão Assembleia Geral das Nações Unidas, realizada na Sede das Nações Unidas em Nova Iorque. As eleições foram para cinco assentos não-permanentes no Conselho de Segurança da ONU para com mandatos de dois anos com iniciados a 1 de janeiro de 2017. De acordo com as regras de rotação do Conselho de Segurança, em que os dez assentos permanentes não rotativos do CSNU entre os diferentes blocos regionais em que os Estados membros da ONU, tradicionalmente dividem-se para fins de voto e representação, os cinco lugares disponíveis foram distribuídos da seguinte forma:
* Um para a África
* Um para o Grupo da Ásia-Pacífico
* Um para a América latina e o Caraíbas
* Duas para a Europa Ocidental e Outros grupos Os cinco membros serviram no Conselho de Segurança durante o período 2017 a 2018.
