The 2016 Tour of Belgium was the 86th edition of the Tour of Belgium cycling stage race. It took place from 25 to 29 May 2016 in Belgium as part of the 2016 UCI Europe Tour and was won by Dries Devenyns. Defending champion Greg Van Avermaet did not take part in the race. On 28 May 2016, during the Stage 3, a crash of two motorcycles into the peloton injured 19 riders. The stage was cancelled that day and several riders abandoned the race and did not start on Stage 4. Stig Broeckx was reported to suffer severe injuries and was in a coma and vegetative (succumbing) state in the hospital in Gent.

La cursa formava part del calendari de l'UCI Europa Tour 2016, amb una categoria 2.HC. El vencedor final fou el belga Dries Devenyns (IAM Cycling), que aconseguí el liderat en la segona etapa i el va mantenir fins al final. Completaren el podi el suís Reto Hollenstein (IAM Cycling) i el belga Stijn Vandenbergh (Etixx-Quick Step). La cursa quedà marcada per una greu caiguda en la quarta etapa, quan en el descens d'una cota dues motos que volien avançar el gran grup van perdre el control i caigueren, impactant contra una vintena de ciclistes. El més afectat per la caiguda va ser el jove belga Stig Broeckx (Lotto-Soudal), en coma per un fort traumatisme cranial i hemorràgies cerebrals, del qual va ser operat pocs dies després. En les classificacions secundàries Baptiste Planckaert (Wallonie Bruxelles-Group Protect) guanyà la dels punts, Amaury Capiot (Topsport Vlaanderen-Baloise) la de la combativitat i l'IAM Cycling fou el millor equip. Es war Teil der UCI Europe Tour 2016 und dort in der Kategorie 2.HC eingestuft. Die dritte Etappe wurde neutralisiert, nachdem zwei Begleitmotorräder durch eine Kollision in das Peloton gerieten und 20 Fahrer zu Fall brachten.
