- L'edició del 2009 de l'UCI ProTour va ser la cinquena edició d'aquesta competició introduïda per la Unió Ciclista Internacional per substituir l'antiga Copa del Món UCI. Estava formada de catorze curses ciclistes en les quals havien de participar obligatòriament els divuit equips que formaven part del ProTour. Amb la creació del Calendari mundial UCI, les curses ProTour van quedar simplement com un calendari de les curses associades a l'UCI. La classificació individual, per equips i per països es disputava dins d'aquest Calendari Mundial UCI. (ca)
- The 2009 UCI ProTour was the fifth series of the UCI ProTour. Two new teams, the American Garmin–Slipstream and the Russian Team Katusha, joined the ProTour, effectively taking over the licenses of Crédit Agricole and Gerolsteiner. Two existing teams changed title sponsors: Team CSC from Denmark became Team Saxo Bank, and Saunier Duval–Scott changed name to Fuji–Servetto. As in 2008, the races organized by the three Grand Tour organizers were not part of the ProTour. Rather than a ranking based only on the ProTour, the UCI designed a World Calendar, on which the Monument events and Grand Tours were included, with a corresponding 2009 UCI World Ranking. The first race was the 2009 Tour Down Under in January, and the series ended with the 2009 GP Ouest-France in August. (en)
- Die UCI ProTour war eine vom Radsportweltverband UCI in den Jahren 2005–2010 veranstaltete Serie wichtiger Etappen- und Eintagesrennen des Straßenradsports. Die ProTour fand 2009 zum fünften Mal statt. Es gab allerdings in dieser Saison kein eigenes ProTour-Ranking, sondern die Ergebnisse der 14 Rennen werden zusammen mit jenen der drei großen Rundfahrten Tour de France, Giro d’Italia und Vuelta a España sowie einiger kleinerer Rennen wie Paris–Nizza und Mailand–Sanremo – den sogenannten „historischen Rennen“ – zum UCI World Calendar 2009 mit gemeinsamen Ranking zusammengefasst. - El UCI ProTour 2009 fue la quinta edición del sistema UCI ProTour, en el cual los equipos UCI ProTeam (primera categoría) tuvieron garantizada y obligada la participación en todas las carreras con dicha denominación de UCI ProTour. En esta edición a pesar de que las carreras organizadas por las Grandes Vueltas continuaban sin estar en el ProTour si entraron en un calendario global de la UCI llamado UCI World Calendar, con la denominación de Carreras Históricas siendo en ese caso la participación no obligatoria y dada mediante invitación aunque con preferencia para los equipos ProTour. Debido a esta unión desapareció la clasificación ProTour surgiendo la clasificación UCI World Ranking. Con lo que a partir de esta edición el ProTour se convirtió en "simplemente" una forma de definir a los equipos de primera categoría (equipos ProTeam) con las carreras de máximo nivel asociadadas a la UCI (carreras ProTour). Comme en 2008, les courses organisées par les trois organisateurs de Grand Tour ne font pas partie du ProTour. Plutôt que d'un classement basé uniquement sur le ProTour, l'UCI a conçu un calendrier mondial, sur lequel les cinq Monuments et les Grands Tours sont inclus. - De UCI ProTour 2009 was de vijfde editie van de opvolger van de wereldbeker in de wielersport. Deze editie begon op 20 januari 2009 met de Tour Down Under en eindigde op 23 augustus met de GP Ouest France. In 2008 won Alejandro Valverde het eindklassement van de ProTour voor Damiano Cunego en Andreas Klöden. Dit jaar wordt er een nieuw systeem toegepast: de UCI Wereldkalender. Daardoor is het ProTour-klassement komen te vervallen. De nieuwe teams dit jaar zijn Team Katjoesja en Garmin-Slipstream, zij kwamen in de plaats van Crédit Agricole en Team Gerolsteiner. Verder is het oude CSC-team veranderd naar Saxo Bank en ging het Spaanse Saunier Duval-Scott verder als Fuji-Servetto. Op de kalender van deze editie ontbraken net als het vorige jaar de grote rondes en enkele andere belangrijke koersen waaronder vier van de vijf grootste klassiekers. De Ronde van Duitsland werd dit jaar niet georganiseerd vanwege de grote hoeveelheden dopinggevallen waardoor de kalender één wedstrijd minder kende dan in 2008. (nl)

A partire da questa edizione, il circuito non aveva una classifica propria, ma le sue corse erano incluse nel Calendario mondiale UCI 2009. Le prove UCI ProTour erano 14 ed erano una delle due classi che costituiscono il Calendario mondiale UCI. La seconda era composta dalle corse storiche. (it)

Pierwszy wyścig z tej serii rozpoczął się 20 stycznia w Australii wyścigiem Tour Down Under, a zakończy 25 sierpnia kiedy to wyścig wieloetapowy rozgrywany w Holandii i Belgii Eneco Tour wyłoni zwycięzcę. Najważniejszy wyścig kolarski w Polsce Tour de Pologne także zalicza się (od 2005 roku) do tego elitarnego grona. (pl)

Nesta edição apesar de que as carreiras organizadas pelas Grandes Voltas continuavam sem estar no ProTour se entraram num calendário global da UCI chamado UCI World Calendar, com a denominação de Carreiras Históricas sendo nesse caso a participação não obrigatória e dada mediante convite ainda que com preferência para as equipas ProTour.
