- El Tour de Flandes 2009 és la 93a edició del Tour de Flandes. Es disputà el 5 d'abril del 2009 entre Bruges i , amb una llargada de 259,7 km. El recorregut incloïa disset cotes, entre les quals els cèlebres Oude Kwaremont, Koppenberg i Muur-Kapelmuur. Els principals favorits per a obtenir la victòria final eren Filippo Pozzato (recent vencedor de l'E3 Prijs Vlaanderen i una etapa dels Tres dies de La Panne), Tom Boonen (vencedor del 2005 i 2006), Stijn Devolder (vencedor del 2008), Nick Nuyens (segon el 2008) i Heinrich Haussler (segon a la Milà-Sanremo, quart a la Dwars door Vlaanderen, i altres bons resultats en aquest 2009). Finalment el vencedor final fou el belga Stijn Devolder, que s'imposà en solitari amb 59" de diferència respecte a l'alemany Heinrich Haussler i el també belga, Philippe Gilbert, que encapçalaven el gran grup. Devolder s'imposà després d'escapar-se dels seus companys d'escapada, Manuel Quinziato, Sylvain Chavanel i Preben van Hecke, durant l'ascens a la penúltima de les dificultats, el Muur-Kapelmuur. Durant la disptua de la cursa Chente García Acosta patí una caiguda que li provocà una fractura del radi del braç esquerre. (ca)

- The 2009 Tour of Flanders cycle race is the 93rd edition of the monument classic and took place on 5 April. The course is 259.7 km long and goes from Bruges to Meerbeke. The weather during the race was sunny and warm at 12 °C. The race was the fifth event in the inaugural UCI World Ranking series. Pre-race favorites included Filippo Pozzato (winner of the E3 Prijs Vlaanderen and a stage in the Three Days of De Panne), Tom Boonen (winner in 2005 and 2006), Stijn Devolder (winner in 2008), Nick Nuyens (2nd in 2008) and Heinrich Haussler (2nd in Milan – San Remo, 4th in Dwars door Vlaanderen, several other impressive results in 2009). In a victory highly similar to the 2008 Tour of Flanders, Stijn Devolder powered away late to the win. With what pundits called the strongest team in the race behind him, the QuickStep rider was able to ride away, while other teams marked teammates Tom Boonen and Sylvain Chavanel. With riders such as favorite Pozzato watching Boonen, Devolder found the strength to solo to victory. Haussler, who was riding in support of Thor Hushovd planned not to contest the victory but said he was told by Hushovd to challenge Devolder. Following the race CNN reported: [The race] was brought to life with 50km remaining when Italian Manuel Quinziato, Frenchman Sylvain Chavanel and three-time runner-up Leif Hoste led a six-rider breakaway. However, they were gradually caught by race favorites Devolder, compatriot and dual winner Tom Boonen and Italian Filippo Pozzato. Devolder made his decisive move over the crest of the penultimate climb, the Muur-Kapelmuur, and by the time he had reached the final climb, the Bosberg, he had an unassailable advantage. The rest of the breakaway riders were eventually caught by the peloton and German Haussler won the sprint for second place which was marred by a nasty crash on the final straight into Meerbeke. (en)

El recorrido incluía diecisiete cotas, entre las cuales estaban las célebres Oude Kwaremont, Koppenberg y Kapelmuur. La prueba pertenecía al circuito UCI ProTour 2009. El vencedor final fue el belga Stijn Devolder, que se impuso en solitario con 56" de diferencia respecto al alemán Heinrich Haussler y 58" sobre, el también belga, Philippe Gilbert, que encabezó el gran grupo. Devolder se impuso después de escaparse de sus compañeros de escapada, Manuel Quinziato, Sylvain Chavanel y Preben van Hecke, durante el ascenso a la penúltima de las dificultades, el Muro Kapelmuur. Belg zaatakował na 16 kilometrów przed metą, na słynnym wzniesieniu Grammont. Na mecie zwycięzca wyprzedził o blisko minutę czołową grupę, z której najszybszy był Niemiec Heinrich Haussler przed Belgiem Philippe'em Gilbertem. (pl)
