- Victoria Cup 2008 byl první ročník tohoto klání, který se odehrál 1. října 2008 formou jednoho zápasu mezi Metallurgem Magnitogorsk, vítězem Super six 2008, a New Yorkem Rangers, zástupcem NHL. Místem konání byla zvolena PostFinance-Arena, jež se nachází ve švýcarském Bernu. Utkání se hrálo podle pravidel IIHF. (cs)
- The 2008 Victoria Cup was the first edition of the Victoria Cup challenge, played on October 1, 2008, between the 2008 European Champions Cup winners, Metallurg Magnitogorsk, and the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League (NHL), at the PostFinance Arena in Bern, Switzerland. The game was played under IIHF rules. The Rangers won the challenge as they battled from a 3–0 deficit to win the game 4–3. The match was preceded on September 30, 2008, by an exhibition between host SC Bern and the New York Rangers, meant to commemorate the centennial of the Swiss Ice Hockey Association. However the additional game, the first ever between a Swiss team and an NHL team, ended up competing with the main event at the box office. With tickets steeply priced, neither game sold out and a number of Swiss fans favored the SC Bern game, which drew a significantly larger audience (16,022) than the actual Victoria Cup game. The New York Rangers defeated SC Bern in this game 8–1. The Rangers followed the Victoria Cup game with two NHL regular season games against the Tampa Bay Lightning in Prague, Czech Republic, on October 4 and 5 at the O2 Arena. - La 1° Victoria Cup ha visto affrontarsi Metallurg Magnitogorsk e New York Rangers, il 1º ottobre 2008 a Berna, in gara unica. Il regolamento adottato è stato quello della IIHF (che differisce in alcuni aspetti da quello NHL). La gara è stata preceduta dall'amichevole tra gli stessi Rangers ed i padroni di casa dell'SC Bern, disputata il 30 settembre 2008. Il match è stato predominato della squadra russa per i primi due tempi. Il terzo tempo si è concluso con la vittoria dei Rangers grazie ad un gol allo scadere dei 60 minuti regolamentari. (it)
- Кубок Виктории 2008 — первый розыгрыш кубка Виктории. 1 октября состоялся один матч между победителем Кубка европейских чемпионов магнитогорским Металлургом и представителем НХЛ — Нью-Йорк Рейнджерс на «Пост Финанс-Арена» в Берне. Игра проходила по международным правилам. Матчу предшествовал товарищеская игра между СК Берн и Нью-Йорк Рейнджерс 30 сентября 2008, закончившаяся со счётом 8:1 в пользу гостей. Это была первая встреча швейцарского клуба с командой из НХЛ. После участия в Кубке Виктории «Рейнджерс» провели две игры регулярного сезона НХЛ с Тампа Бэй Лайтнинг в Праге 4 и 5 октября на O2-арене. (ru)
