- Les eleccions al Parlament Europeu de 2004 a Letònia van ser celebrades el 12 de juny del 2004, es va escollir els nou representants del mencionat país per a la VI legislatura del Parlament Europeu. Després de la seva recent incorporació a la Unió Europea, va ser la primera vegada que Letònia va participar en uns comicis europeus. Hi havia llistes de candidats de 16 partits polítics, amb un total de 1.019 candidats. La participació electoral va ser del 41,20%, amb 574.674 votants. Va ser significativament més baixa que la participació habitual per a les eleccions parlamentàries de Letònia -que havia estat per entre 71% i 73% per a les tres eleccions anteriors-, però més gran que l'índex de participació en la majoria d'altres països que es van incorporar a la Unió Europea, juntament amb Letònia el 2004. L'elecció es va portar a terme d'acord amb el sistema de representació proporcional amb llista de partit, amb almenys un 5% dels vots necessaris per guanyar escons en el parlament. - The 2004 European Parliament election in Latvia was the election of MEPs representing Latvia constituency for the 2004-2009 term of the European Parliament. It was part of the wider 2004 European election. The vote took place on 12 June. There were lists of candidates from 16 political parties. with a total of 1019 candidates. The voter turnout was 41.20%, with 574,674 voters casting votes. It was significantly lower than the usual turnout for Latvian parliamentary elections (which has been between 71% and 73% for previous three elections) but higher than the turnout in most of other countries which joined EU together with Latvia in 2004. The election was conducted according to party-list proportional representation system, with at least 5% of votes necessary to gain seats in the parliament. Out of 16 parties, five won seats in the European parliament. Several parties narrowly missed the 5% threshold. (en)

- Les élections européennes se sont déroulées le 12 juin 2004 en Lettonie. Elles ont permis l'élection des 9 députés européens représentant la Lettonie au Parlement européen pour la législature 2004-2009. 16 partis politiques ont présenté des listes, pour un total de 1 019 candidats. La participation s'est élevée à 41,20 % avec 574 674 votants, nettement inférieur aux taux traditionnels (de 71 à 73 % lors des précédentes trois élections), bien que supérieure à la participation des autres Pays baltes. Le mode de scrutin est à la représentation proportionnelle, avec un seuil de 5 % pour remporter des sièges. Sur les 16 partis, 5 sont représentés à l'issue de l'élection, de nombreux partis manquant de peu ce seuil. - Europaparlamentsvalet i Lettland 2004 ägde rum lördagen den 12 juni 2004. Knappt 1,4 miljoner personer var röstberättigade i valet om de nio mandat som Lettland hade tilldelats innan valet. Lettland var inte uppdelat i några valkretsar, utan fungerade som en enda valkrets i valet. I valet tillämpade landet ett valsystem med partilistor, Sainte-Laguës metod och en spärr på 5 procent för småpartier. Valet var det första Europaparlamentsvalet som hölls i Lettland, som hade anslutit sig till unionen den 1 maj 2004. Valets främsta vinnare var det nationalkonservativa partiet Fosterland och frihet, som erhöll över 30 procent av rösterna och därmed fyra mandat. Det konservativa partiet Ny era kom på andra plats med knappt 20 procent av rösterna och två mandat. Även För mänskliga rättigheter i enade Lettland, Lettiska folkpartiet och Lettiska vägen erhöll tillräckligt med röster för att vinna ett mandat var. Däremot lyckades inte Lettlands socialdemokratiska arbetarparti komma över femprocentsspärren och vinna något mandat. Lettland blev därmed den enda medlemsstaten i valet 2004 som inte var representerad i Socialdemokratiska gruppen i Europaparlamentet. Valdeltagandet var lågt; endast 41,34 procent av de röstberättigade valde att rösta i valet. Detta kan jämföras med valdeltagandet på runt 70 procent i Lettlands nationella parlamentsval. Valdeltagandet låg dock ganska nära det genomsnittliga valdeltagandet i hela unionen, och var ett av de högsta bland de medlemsstater som hade anslutit sig till unionen samma år. (sv)
