- A Corsican autonomy referendum was held on 6 July 2003. Voters were asked whether or not they approved the restructuring of the system of administration on Corsica. Had the referendum been successful, the two départements on the island would have been abolished leaving only the Corsican Assembly which would be granted additional functions including some limited powers on raising and spending taxes. The suggestion was not approved, albeit by a very small margin. 51% voted against the proposal, with 49% supporting it. The difference between the yes and no vote was 2,190 votes. (en)

Der von der französischen Regierung unter Premierminister Jean-Pierre Raffarin ausgearbeitete Gesetzesentwurf sah einen Abbau von Verwaltungsstrukturen und eine größere Selbstverwaltung durch die gewählte Korsika-Versammlung (Assemblée de Corse) vor. Die vorgeschlagene Reform wurde von den Abstimmenden mit sehr knapper Mehrheit von 50,98 % abgelehnt. Die Wahlbeteiligung betrug 60,52 %. (de)
- Le référendum de 2003 en Corse est une consultation non contraignante organisée le 6 juillet 2003 afin de proposer à la population la modification du statut territorial de la Corse. Le projet prévoit ainsi de fusionner les deux conseils généraux de Haute-Corse et de Corse-du-Sud au sein d’une collectivité territoriale unique. La proposition est rejetée par 51 % des votants. (fr)
- Il referendum sull'autonomia della Corsica del 2003 è un referendum locale francese che è stato previsto dalla legge n° 2003-486 del 10 giugno 2003 e si è svolto il 6 luglio dello stesso anno, il referendum prevedeva l'unione dei dipartimenti dell'Alta Corsica e della Corsica del Sud e maggiori poteri all'Assemblea della Corsica. La proposta non è stata approvata, anche se con un margine ridotto. Il 51% ha votato contro la proposta, con il 49% che lo ha sostenuta. La differenza tra il sì e no voto era di solo 2.190 voti. Questa consultazione è stata fatta ai sensi dell'articolo 72-1 della Costituzione. (it)
