- The 2000–01 Biathlon World Cup was a multi-race tournament over a season of biathlon, organised by the International Biathlon Union. The season started on 30 November 2000 in Antholz-Anterselva, Italy, and ended on 18 March 2001 in Holmenkollen, Norway. It was the 24th season of the Biathlon World Cup. (en)
- Der Biathlon-Weltcup 2000/01 sollte an neun Weltcuporten ausgetragen werden. Aufgrund von Schneemangel in Hochfilzen, Pokljuka und Osrblie wurden diese drei Weltcups nach Antholz verlegt. Somit fanden in Antholz vier Weltcupveranstaltungen statt. In die Gesamtwertungen gingen auch die Ergebnisse der Biathlon-Weltmeisterschaften in Pokljuka ein. (de)

Les championnats du monde (comptants également pour la Coupe du monde) ont lieu à Pokljuka (Slovénie) du 3 février au 11 février 2001. (fr)
- La Coppa del Mondo di biathlon 2001 fu la ventiquattresima edizione della manifestazione organizzata dall'Unione Internazionale Biathlon; ebbe inizio il 30 novembre 2000 a Hochfilzen/Anterselva, in Austria/Italia, e si concluse il 18 marzo 2001 a Oslo Holmenkollen, in Norvegia. Nel corso della stagione si tennero a Pokljuka i Campionati mondiali di biathlon 2001, validi anche ai fini della Coppa del Mondo, il cui calendario non contemplò dunque interruzioni. In campo maschile furono disputate 25 delle 26 gare individuali previste e tutte le 5 gare a squadre previste, in 10 diverse località. Il francese Raphaël Poirée si aggiudicò sia la coppa di cristallo, il trofeo assegnato al vincitore della classifica generale, sia la Coppa di inseguimento; il norvegese Ole Einar Bjørndalen vinse la Coppa di sprint, il tedesco Sven Fischer quella di partenza in linea e il russo Sergej Rožkov quella di individuale. Poirée era il detentore uscente della Coppa generale. In campo femminile furono disputate 25 delle 26 gare individuali previste e tutte le 5 gare a squadre previste, in 10 diverse località. La svedese Magdalena Forsberg si aggiudicò sia la coppa di cristallo, sia tutte le Coppe di specialità. La Forsberg era la detentrice uscente della Coppa generale. (it)
- Puchar Świata w biathlonie 2000/2001 to 24. sezon w historii tej dyscypliny sportu. Pierwsze zawody miały odbyć się 30 listopada 2000 r. w austriackim Hochfilzen, jednak z powodu braku śniegu zostały przeniesione do włoskiej Anterselvy. Sezon zakończył się 18 marca 2001 w norweskim Holmenkollen. Najważniejszą imprezą sezonu były mistrzostwa świata w Pokljuce. Klasyfikację generalna pań po raz piąty w karierze wygrała Szwedka Magdalena Forsberg, która wyprzedziła o 217 punktów Norweżkę Liv Grete Poirée oraz o 247 Ukrainkę Ołenę Zubryłową. Szwedka triumfowała również w klasyfikacji biegu indywidualnego, sprintu, biegu pościgowego oraz biegu masowego. W sztafecie wygrały Norweżki, zaś w Pucharze Narodów najlepsze były Niemki. Wśród panów po raz drugi bezkonkurencyjny okazał się Raphaël Poirée. Francuz sześć razy zwyciężał w zawodach pucharu świata i zgromadził 921 punktów. Drugi w klasyfikacji, Norweg Ole Einar Bjørndalen miał na koncie 911 punktów, zaś trzeci Frode Andresen 712. Poirée wygrał także klasyfikację w biegu na dochodzenie. W sprincie zwyciężył Ole Einar Bjørndalen, a w biegu indywidualnym Rosjanin Siergiej Rożkow. Triumfatorem w biegu masowym został Niemiec Sven Fischer. Obie klasyfikację drużynowe wygrali Norwegowie.
