- The 1893 Primera División was the 2nd. season in top-flight football in Argentina and the first organized by current Argentine Football Association, established that same year by Alexander Watson Hutton, considered "the father" of Argentine football. Only Buenos Aires and Rosario Railway survived from the 1891 championship. The championship took the format of a league of 5 teams, with each team playing each of the others twice. Se jugó en dos ruedas de todos contra todos, entre el 23 de abril y el 30 de julio. Fue el primer campeonato organizado por la segunda Argentine Association Football League, entidad fundada el 21 de febrero de 1893 por Alejandro Watson Hutton y considerada oficialmente como predecesora de la Asociación del Fútbol Argentino. El campeón fue el Lomas Athletic Club, que obtuvo el torneo sin sufrir derrotas, siendo así el primer campeón invicto en la historia del fútbol argentino. De este modo, se dio inicio a un ciclo de conquistas que llegó hasta 1898, transformándolo en el primer multicampeón del fútbol argentino. - La saison 1893 est la deuxième édition du Championnat d'Argentine de football. Elle se dénomme officiellement Championship Cup 1893. Le championnat est organisé par une nouvelle fédération créée le 21 février 1893 mais qui porte le même nom que l'organisation précédente : Argentine Association Football League. Cette nouvelle fédération est créée par qui est depuis considéré comme le "père" du football argentin. De la première édition ne subsiste qu'une seule équipe, le Buenos Aires and Rosario Railway. À l'origine, chaque équipe devait jouer à trois reprises contre chacun de ses adversaires. Mais à la suite du retrait successif de deux équipes, Buenos Aires English High School après la septième journée puis Buenos Aires and Rosario Railway après la huitième, la fédaration décide fin juillet d'annuler la troisième partie du championnat. Le Lomas Athletic Club remporte son premier championnat en restant invaincu. Au terme du championnat, Buenos Aires and Rosario Railway arrête la compétition. Quilmes Rovers et Buenos Aires English High School ne se réenregistrent pas auprès de la fédération. Pour pallier ces retraits, quatre nouvelles équipes rejoignent le championnat : Rosario Athletic, Lobos Athletic, Saint Andrew's et Retiro Athletic. William Leslie du Lomas Athletic Club est le meilleur buteur du championnat avec 7 buts. (fr)

Si disputò dal 23 aprile al 30 luglio e vide la vittoria del Lomas Athletic Club. La formula del torneo – fondato da Alexander Watson Hutton – prevedeva originalmente un girone all'italiana con 3 turni di incontri. Il non giocò l'ultima partita del secondo turno e si ritirò. Lo stesso fece il alla fine del secondo turno. La partita -Lomas (0-1) venne annullata dalla Federazione perché apparteneva al terzo turno, che non venne disputato in quanto il Lomas era già matematicamente campione considerando le due defezioni. Nella squadra campione c'erano diversi studenti dell'accademia di Lomas. (it)
