The 1890 Geneva Covenanters football team was an American football team that represented Geneva College as an independent during the 1890 college football season. Led by head coach William McCracken, the team played only one game, losing to the Western University of Pennsylvania (now known as the University of Pittsburgh) by a score of 10–4. The game, played Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, was the first official football victory in Pittsburgh Panthers football history. The Pittsburgh Press summarized the action: "The football game between the Western University eleven and the Geneva college team at Beaver Falls yesterday resulted in a score of 10 to 4 in favor of the University boys. In the first half a bad pass gave the ball to Reed, who succeeded in making a touchdown, scoring the only point
