The Ōhau River is a short river, some 8 kilometres (5 mi) long, that links Lake Ōhau with the artificial lake Ruataniwha in the Mackenzie Basin, New Zealand. Until the construction of the Waitaki River hydroelectric project, the Ōhau River was a tributary of the Waitaki River, 13 miles (21 km) long.
