Zoë Keating is a Canadian-born cellist and composer based in San Francisco, California. In her solo performances and recordings (particularly the ongoing project she calls "One Cello x 16"), she uses live electronic sampling and repetition in order to layer the sound of her cello, creating rhythmically dense musical structures. Zoë's self-produced album "One Cello x 16: Natoma" has four times made it to #1 on the iTunes classical charts.

Keating was born in Guelph, Ontario on February 2, 1972 to an English mother and an American father. She began playing the cello at the age of eight and attended Sarah Lawrence College in New York. She is also an information architect and has worked on projects for the Research Libraries Group and the Database of Recorded American Music. She is featured on Amanda Palmer's debut Solo Album, Who Killed Amanda Palmer.
