Zigmund Ambrose Zogly and Zagnatius Hillery Zogly (born 29 February on Zog), widely regarded as Zig and Zag are a pair of fictional extraterrestrial twins, portrayed by puppets, who have achieved global recognition on MTV. They made their television début on RTÉs Dempseys Den in 1987. Zig and Zag's tireless efforts to entertain the children of Ireland finally paid off in 1989 when the pair were honoured with a Jacob's Award, becoming the first extraterrestrials to achieve this feat.

In October 2008 to celebrate the duo's 21st anniversary of their first appearance on Irish Television the DVD is entitled Best Bitz From Back Den and features a compilation of links, music items and Christmas Specials spanning Zig and Zag's years on The Den between 1987 and 1993.
