Woody Island is one of the Paracel Islands in the South China Sea. It is occupied by the People's Republic of China and also claimed by the Republic of China and Vietnam. It has no indigenous inhabitants. There is a Chinese Emergency rescue center on the island served by an artificial harbor and an airfield with a 2350 meter runway.
