Dashkova començà a publicar articles de temàtica social signant-los com una dona russa. El 1783 fou nomenada directora de l'Acadèmia Russa de les Ciències, fundant més tard l'Acadèmia Russa de la Llengua, des d'on fou la principal responsable de la publicació del primer gran diccionari en llengua russa, a més d'impulsora de la reforma educativa. A la mort de la seva amiga Caterina II fou desterrada tot i la seva important tasca, car el fill de Pere II no havia oblidat la seva participació en la deposició i mort del seu pare ajudant la seva mare. No va poder tornar a Rússia fins el 1801, amb la pujada al tron d'Alexandre I. Va escriure memòries Mon Histoire (1804-1806), i versos en rus i en francès. És l'autora d'algunes peces de teatre: Les bodes de Fabian o Toisiokov (1786). Finalment va morir a Moscou el 1810.

Nacida en San Petersburgo en 1743, participó en la conspiración contra Pedro III que llevó al trono a Catalina II, amiga suya que la favoreció desde ese momento. Dáshkova comenzó a publicar artículos de temática social firmándolos como una mujer rusa. En 1783 fue nombrada directora de la Academia Rusa de Ciencias, fundando más tarde la Academia Rusa de la Lengua, desde donde fue la principal responsable de la publicación del primer gran diccionario en lengua rusa, además de impulsora de la reforma educativa. A la muerte de su amiga Catalina II fue desterrada a pesar de su importante labor, pues el hijo de Pedro II no había olvidado su participación en la deposición y muerte de su padre ayudando a su madre. No pudo regresar a Rusia hasta el 1801, con la subida al trono de Alejandro I. Escribió memorias «Mon Histoire», 1804-1806 y versos en ruso y en francés. Es la autora de algunas piezas de teatro ("Las bodas de Fabián", "Toisiokov"). Murió en Moscú en 1810.
