Previous venues for "first Wednesday" gatherings were La Cabane on Boulevard Saint-Laurent and La Quincaillerie on rue Rachel. The event draws between 30 and 80 people each month. A spinoff of YULBlog is YULBiz, for people interested in the business and professional aspects of blogging and social media. YULBiz started in Montreal, but considers itself to be an international organization.
