Elle a pour objectif de diffuser davantage l’information à caractère international afin de sensibiliser les étudiants et autres citoyens aux réalités d’ailleurs, en leur donnant accès à des nouvelles, dossiers et éditoriaux venant des quatre coins de la planète. En développant un réseau à partir des organisations journalistiques étudiantes, le but est de favoriser l’intégration d’information internationale dans les médias étudiants. Par sa structure, l’APÉM facilite l’accès à une information diversifiée de deux façons : en offrant aux médias étudiants l’occasion de publier leurs articles sur son site Internet, l’APÉM devient un concentré d’information internationale de plus en plus complet. L’accès aux publications est gratuit et ne requiert aucune inscription, ce qui permet la libre circulation de l’information à l’échelle mondiale. d’autre part, l’APÉM se veut une source d’information internationale au service des médias étudiants. En effet, en plus de se servir de l’APÉM pour publier leurs articles, les médias étudiants sont invités à diffuser les articles disponibles sur ce site Internet dans leurs propres publications (à condition que le nom de l’auteur et la source originale soient clairement mentionnés); à consulter les différentes section du site pour recueillir de l’information; et à communiquer avec les autres collaborateurs afin de se développer un réseau de contacts mondial.
