The World Money Fair is an international bourse of coins. A bourse is where dealers, collectors and the public buy, sell and trade coins. In 1970 A. M Beck founded in Munich the "Organisation of European Coins-Bourses", "Organisation Europäischer Münzen-Börsen" (OEMB) in German. He had the idea to build up a stronger market for the collecting of coins. Two years later the organisation organized in Basel the first international bourse of coins.

The most recent World Money Fair, the 37th edition was held on February 1-3, 2008 in Berlin at the Estrel Convention Center.   • Die World Money Fair ist eine internationale Münzbörse. 1970 wurde in München durch Albert Beck die „Organisation Europäischer Münzen-Börsen“ (OEMB) mit der Idee gegründet, einen starken Sammlermarkt aufzubauen. Zwei Jahre später veranstaltete die Organisation in Basel die „1. Internationale Münzenbörse“. Diese wurde in den folgenden Jahren in Bern und Zürich wiederholt. Mit der Zeit entwickelte diese Börse sich durch die Teilnahme staatlicher Prägeanstalten zur „Europa-Münzenbörse“ und anschließend zur „World Money Fair“ weiter. Mittlerweile nehmen bis zu 40 Nationen an der Börse teil. 2006 fand die Börse erstmals in Berlin statt. Zur Eröffnung überreichte am 3. Februar 2006 der parlamentarische Staatssekretär Karl Diller dem schleswig-holsteinischen Finanzminister Rainer Wiegard die neu erschienene Zweieuromünze mit dem Lübecker Holstentor auf der Rückseite. Auf der Münzbörse gibt es neben Ausstellungen auch noch Wettbewerbe, Vorstellungen neuer Münzprogramme, Sondermesseausgaben, Auktionen, Vorträge und Ehrungen. Zudem wird alljährlich der Vreneli-Preis für Verdienste der in der Numismatik verliehen.
