Its networks enable people to connect with each other on critical global issues affecting us all, from peace and human rights to the spread of democracy, equitable development, and international justice. The WFUNA is an independent, non-governmental organization with Category One Consultative Status at the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and consultative or liaison links with many other UN organizations and agencies.

Der Verband ist beratend tätig und unterhält enge Arbeitsbeziehungen zu zahlreichen anderen UN-Organisationen.
