Working Model is an engineering simulation software product. Virtual mechanical components, such as springs, ropes, and motors are combine with objects in a 2D working space. After the "Run" button is clicked, the program will simulate the interaction of the model's parts and can also graph the movement and force on any element in the project. It is useful for basic physics simulations.

After the "Run" button is clicked, the program will simulate the interaction of the model's parts and can also graph the movement and force on any element in the project. It is useful for basic physics simulations. Working Model 2D was originally introduced in the early 1990s as a boxed software product from Knowledge Revolution in San Francisco, for Macintosh computers. A Windows version followed in 1994. Knowledge Revolution was acquired by MacNeal-Schwendler Corporation in December 1998. The Working Model product was later sold off to an employee of MacNeal-Schwendler in December 2005, who now sells it under the business name "Design Simulation Technologies".
