Willy Rampf is a German car engineer, currently the technical director of the BMW Sauber Formula One team. Rampf studied Automotive Engineering at the Munich University of Applied Sciences, and has worked as a development engineer for BMW since 1979. From 1989 to 1993, Rampf worked for BMW in South Africa, where he discovered Formula One. The Sauber team made its debut in Formula One at the South African Grand Prix in 1993.

Einmal mehr war Rampf erfolgreich: Der BMW-Pilot Richard Sainct gewann die legendäre Wüsten-Rallye souverän. Ende 1999 startete Willy Rampf seine zweite Karriere bei Sauber-Petronas, wo er am 1. April 2000 die Stelle als Technischer Direktor übernahm und seither für die Definition des Fahrzeugkonzeptes, die Konstruktion, die Entwicklung sowie für den Fahrzeugeinsatz an der Rennstrecke verantwortlich zeichnet.

V Mnichově vedl projekt motorkářský projekt BMW pro rally Paříž-Dakar, kde byl taktéž úspěšný: Pilot BMW Richard Sainct vyhrál pouštní rally suverenním způsobem. Koncem roku 1999 nastartoval Willy Rampf svou druhou kariéru v u Sauberu (Sauber-Petronas), kde od 1. dubna 2000 zastává funkci technického ředitele a má na starosti koncepci závodního vozu, konstrukci, vývoj a nasazování vozu na závodech.
