William Henry Dieterich was a United States Senator and Congressman from the State of Illinois. He was born near Cooperstown, Illinois. He was a Democrat. Dieterich was admitted to the bar in 1901 and began to practice in Rushville, Illinois. During the Spanish-American War, he served as a corporal. Upon his return to civilian life, he became the city attorney for Rushville as well as being a county judge. He was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1931 and served a single term.
