- William Atherton ist ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler. 1974 spielte Atherton seine erste große Rolle in dem Film Sugarland Express. 1984 spielte er in der Rolle des Walter Peck in Ghostbusters – Die Geisterjäger. Eine seiner wohl bekanntesten Rollen ist die des egoistischen Reporter Dick Thornburg in Stirb langsam und Stirb langsam 2. Er trat auch in The Crow III – Tödliche Erlösung aus dem Jahr 2000 auf.
