White Rose Movement were a post-punk/electro band from London, England. The band is named after the German anti-Nazi resistance movement White Rose. They mix the post-punk style and attitude of early bands of the genre such as Joy Division, Killing Joke, and The Chameleons with a more New Romantic image reminiscent of bands like Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, and A Flock of Seagulls, as well as more modern electroclash and post-punk revival influences.

I White Rose Movement formarono inizialmente un gruppo chiamato Arturo che non ebbe molto successo. Finn Vine, Jasper Milton, Owen Dyke e Edward Harper crebbero in un comune hippy in un piccolo villaggio in Nortfolk. Taxxi (Erica MacArthur) entrò a far parte della band successivamente, quando Dyke andò per tutti i club Trash di Londra cercando una qualsiasi ragazza che suonasse la tastiera. Il loro primo album è stato realizzato il 17 aprile 2006 dopo un periodo di attenzione da parte della stampa della musica indie britannica. Nel 2006 la band va in tour con i The Rakes e con i Placebo, mentre l'anno seguente si esibisce davanti al pubblico di Sydney in compagnia dei Nine Inch Nails. Nello stesso anno suonano inoltre al Coachella Festival in California e al festival internazionale di Benicàssim, vicino Barcellona. Nel Gennaio 2008 Erica lascia la band e viene quindi sostituita da Poppy. È stato firmato di recente un contratto con la casa discografica "Domino" ed è attualmente in lavorazione il nuovo album la cui uscita è in programma per i primi mesi del 2010. Purtroppo la band ha trovato molte difficoltà sul cammino e attualmente il secondo albumm anche se terminato non sarà pubblicato in quanto i white rose non hanno avuto il giusto sostegno. I white rose movement si augurano un giorno di riuscire in qualche modo a far sentire l'album in modo tale che l'attesa non sia stata vana. Per il momento ringraziano tutti i loro fans e nonostante lo scioglimento i membri del gruppo rimarranno ottimi amici.
