White Lion is an American/Danish glam metal band that was formed in New York City in 1983 by Danish vocalist Mike Tramp and American guitarist Vito Bratta. Mainly active in the 1980s and early 1990s, the band achieved double platinum status with their #8 hit "Wait" and #3 hit "When the Children Cry". White Lion disbanded in 1991, but was reformed again by Tramp in 1999 with all new musicians.

Le prime critiche cominciarono però ad emergere un paio di anni dopo con il disco Big Game. Dopo un ultimo album in studio dagli scarsi consensi nel 1991, il gruppo si scioglie lo stesso anno. Saranno diversi i tentativi di riunire la band, tutti sfumati nel corso degli anni anche a causa delle tensioni tra Tramp e Bratta. Infine, dopo il tentativo fallito di riunire ufficialmente i White Lion senza il chitarrista, Tramp fonda nel 2005 i Tramp's White Lion, che con una formazione completamente riassemblata, propone i vecchi brani della band e pubblica alcuni live, raccolte oltre ad un album in studio dal titolo di Return of The Pride, nel 2008.
