WebOnt is the W3C's Semantic Web Activity Working group on Web Ontology Language. The result of this group's effort has been in producing OWL - the Web Ontology Language. OWL took DAML+OIL as a starting language (which itself is built on top of RDF and XML) and provided extensions that are compatible with description logics. OWL is the emerging expressive web ontology language.
