Warneford Cresswell (5 November 1897 – 20 October 1973), known as Warney, was an English professional footballer, who helped Everton win the Football League championship twice and the FA Cup. His ability and talents earned him the sobriquet "The Prince of Full Backs" and helped him win seven caps for England. For three years he was the world's most expensive footballer. He has also been credited with the quote: "Good goalkeepers never make great saves".
