Often there are early morning drive time shows that are primarily talk. Following this, the noontime shows are set aside for students new to the station to get acquainted with everything that goes into running a radio production. Mid-day shows follow a set playlist of electronic music artists. In the late afternoon and evening, student created shows are broadcast, and can be a variety of musical genres. Student produced radio ends at 8:30 PM local time. Whenever the station isn't broadcasting local shows or during summer, it plays classical music received by a satellite dish, the feed originating from WCPE in North Carolina. The station broadcasts live high school sporting events, school board meetings, or other special events. Every year WPHS runs a 'radio marathon', where students broadcast 24 hours a day for five days as a fund raiser. Generally, the funds raised are donated towards a charitable organization, or used to improve the station's equipment.
