From July through December of 2008, WMTR employed a satellite oldies format, playing music from mostly 1964 to 1979. The Classic Oldies format was reinstated after Christmas. WMTR still broadcasts 24 hours a day. In addition to playing oldies, WMTR offers news and information. WMTR's core artists include Beatles, Elvis Presley, Four Seasons, Beach Boys, Martha And The Vandellas, Everly Brothers, Three Dog Night, Ricky Nelson, Rolling Stones, Spinners, Leslie Gore, Fats Domino, Supremes, Four Tops, Bee Gees, Association, Buddy Holly, Young Rascals, and many more. In 2005 and 2006, WMTR did see some of its most successful ratings ever after long-time Oldies station WCBS-FM 101.1 based out of New York City began to water down their oldies format and in June 2005 abandoned the format altogether in favor of an adult rock format called Jack FM. That station has since returned to its former presentation with more of a Classic Hits format
