The subject of this book is the guardian angels, which was called in the book "helpers" or "guardian spirits. Also the following series of novels by Margit Sandemo, Häxmästaren is about this same subject matter. The message of the book is that everyone has, from as far as birth, at least one guardian angel, who stands by the protegé's side all their life and appears only in dangerous situations. Usually, women have male and men have female guardian spirits. Author Margit Sandemo is a visions seeing person. She believes that someone people have got a thing like that talent as birth gift. She claims that her guardian spirit is a long and light man called Virgil. She has known him since the age of eight. Vi är inte ensamma deals with how to tell a guardian angel from a ghost and how to contact to the own guardian angel. Sandemo claims that somebody people can handle other people's guardian angels with metal pins and also they, whose can't this can send to their guardian spirit a subtle request, and guardian spirits gives an answer to this in a dream, in the shape of a bird or a star. Vi är inte ensamma be based on partially letters from people whose lives guardian angels have an effected on in their opinion. Sandemo got thousands of that kind of letters after that she had requested people in the Norsk Ukeblad (Norwegian Weekly Magazine) send to her their own descriptions about guardian spirits. Naturally, just a slight fraction from letters finished up to the definitive book.
